About Us

Frontenac Tree Service was started in 2017. We are a small operation with a focus on safety, professionalism, and difficult / technical removals. 

The tree service industry is a largely unregulated trade. Insurance, certifications, WSIB coverage, and proper ISA recommended tree care practices are all opt-in / voluntary.

Frontenac Tree Service adheres to industry recommended practices, and is voluntarily opted-in to WSIB insurance for our staff, exceeds minimum recommend training and certifications for employees, and carries 5 million in Contractors General Liability Insurance. Our vehicles and equipment are inspected and pass commercial safety checks annually. 

Owner and lead arborist Nathan Putnam is an ISA Certified Arborist. Prior to starting Frontenac Tree Service, he worked for 13 years in Kingston as a Primary Care Paramedic. He has obtained a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from Queen's University in Biology with a focus in plant physiology. His background has provided a strong bias towards safety and professionalism on our job sites.
